I was going to put this in a post of its on but I just wanted to go ahead and let you guys know that I will not be posting up until I start my locs in july/august. Reason being I dont really have anything to to post up because my hair is a protective style or braids atm and they will be in until I take them out to go for my consultation. I am also an art student and I have 6 weeks left on my course and I am curently doing my final major project which is just. yeah xD STRESS.But I am planning on making a post nearer to then to show my natural journey. It'll be a year in august!! woo.
I am so proud of myself for sticking in there and not going back to relaxers cause Ive gotta admit it's been pretty time consuming taming my natural hair and the thought of putting a relaxer back in has crossed my mind! But I love my natural hair, I love its thickness and texture and just how it looks in general, which bring me into my 2nd update!
I cannot wait to start my loc journey, Ive been watching so many videos on youtube about locs in general. I feel to just take out my braids and start my journey now but I know It's not a good time!! I literally feel ready, my mindset has changed, and I just realise that it's just hair, it doesnt need to be given so much importance because at the end of the day as India.Arie states "I am not my hair" I used to be one of those people who was defined by their hair everyone knew me for my braids but gone are the days! Seriously I know getting locs is going to change my life because for the 1st time it'll be me in my fully natural state and I'm just ready to embrace all of the stages and I thank the loc community of youtube for that. I ve watched a millon videos on "things to know before you start your locs" " How to retwist" "Loc journeys" and " Do and dont products" "Cultivated vs Freeform" "Ending my loc journey "" Ive even been watcing peoples month by month loc journeys. I' m currently religously watching Edhil1998's journey because ive been watching her beforeshe even started her locs and hers aree BEAUTIFUL, they've matured so quickly! I am also watching Tbey82 cause she started her journey along with her daughters 3 years ago and they honestly look beautiful. They are sooo well kept and neat and I love their size!!
As you can tell i'm itching to start them. Literally I keep watching videos on youtube!! I'M physically and emotionally ready, like nothing anyone could say or do to me could stop me from doing them. I'm strong that I can start them and embrace the journey !!
My good friend Khemi has had her locs all her life and she was like you're more educated about locs than I am. I might retwist her hair for her xD

Natural hair - TAG (YOU'RE IT)
1. Where are you from and what is the natural hair scene like there?
I'm from London! The natural hair scene hair is quite scarce I would say it's not really as accepted as using weaves/ relaxers.
2. Why did you go natural?
About 6 months, I did the BC last year in august 2011
4. How long have you been natural
9 months now!
5. What's your hair texture?
They weren't really phased by it tbh. They did agree that it was alot healthier though
7. What's your favorite product for your hair?
I'm not really a massive user of hair products but i'll go with Coconut oil! It leaves my hair feeling really moisturised, and it's all i've been using atm
This is a supershort one but of extreme importance to this blog to update you guys on my hair journey! so yeah I'm going to do this later today. It's 1.57AM so i need to get some sleep!

2. Why did you go natural?
I used to use a relaxer in my hair and my relaxed hair was literally horrible, it was stringy and had no body. I couldn't leave it out. One day I took it of a protective hairstyle and I was so fed up with it that I cut off the relaxed ends in the shower, best choice I ever made and i'm never looking back!

5. What would you name your kids?Oh wow it's difficult Ive always liked strong sounds to names boy or girl so if it was a boy Raynen and a girl Freya probably

Not currently but I really want to get back into swimming. I dont know if my future locs will like it though xD

Chloe- Narcisse It was like one of the first Eau de parfums I was bought as a gift and the smells always seemed amazing to me.

I haven't really been on many holidays, but I'd have to say my 1st trip to Nigeria because I didn't realise just how much I enjoyed it there until the day I had to come back to leave, I cried so much on the way to the airport.

Yup! I'm from England though so we attend secondary school, but yeah same thing xD

I didnt particulary like primary or secondary school due to various reasons but yeah I'm enjoying college/sixth form

Um since this blog is dedicated to hair and I've been watching quite a few youtube videos my favourite would have to be Edhill1988 my reason being Ive watched her channel for a long time and I've wanted locs for ages so I watch one of her new videos one day and the next thing I hear her saying is that she plans to loc her hair!!!! I wa ecstatic xD like what how unreal is that! She recently got locs put in Feb 2012. It's just crazy seeing her with locs, and they look amazing on her. So as you can imagine with me being as superstitious as I am i saw this as another sign that me getting my locs was a good idea.

PC, I can actually say i've tried out both now and MACS really don't agree with me I really don't get what people see in them, but that's just me. It's just little things like the method you use to copy and paste on it and a few other things but yeah xD I prefer the PC.

A Nokia I don't remember the brand no. but it's not a smart phone or android. It's a mini brick xD

Hey guys!
I've been saying that I've wanted to create a blog dedicated to me starting my dreadlocks and their journey, I've decided to start it today because I've literally been lazying around my aunts house and yeah. I just felt like it. My hair is currently natural and I've been wearing a protective hair style (Braids/Single plaits) getting it ready for when I start my dreadlocks in June/July ( I havent set a date yet but it WILL be happening in one of those months).
So for now I'll be continuously be making blogs about my natural hair journey so far and about my hair in the past. I will be uploading some pictures ASAP so you can see how much its grown. I'm not really sure what hair type mine is but I have worked it out to be a 3B.
Tomorrow I will be getting my braids put back in, and tbh I'm actually quite sad about that. Because for once I am actually loving my hair, i'm just really enjoying taking care of it and how much its grown ( it's still quite short) but I just love it. I know I should let the past remain but If i could turn back the hands of time I wouldn't have ever let my mum put a relaxer in ( I will speak about this in my hair in the past blog). I love my natural hair and I just can't wait to start my locs journey.
But yes as sad I am to put her away, I have to put her into the protective hairstyle of braids because as you guys may not know I am an Fda art and design student and my final major project starts next week and lasts for 9 weeks and I just know I wont have the time to take care of my hair her in her natural state, but yeah it's only for 9 weeks and then i'll be loccing her up. I'm so excited. I really am!
I have some updates about where I will be (hopefully) starting them off and which method I want to use but I will talk about that in another blog.
I just wanted to state my intent for this blog and to also say hello, I hope I will be able to share my journey with you guys and maybe help people out and be helped in return (:
